“Please excuse him, do tell us, what is it we need to know?“ Zunery asks as he steps forward and not so subtly positions Blaine outside of the conversation. Blaine mumbles something inaudible.
“Many centuries ago we discovered the Purge. A cleft in the side of that volcano that shadows us. Something unique blocks the use or conception of magic in it’s void. Upon learning and experiencing this absence of power, we learned a new form of self mastery. We now practice a ritual, which is open even to you Blaine, if you should choose it. Once in a lifetime, every Viodion purges himself in the void, from then on he practices carrying the void in his heart, cleansing himself of the powers of this world.”
